Wedding Insurance

The special occasion of a wedding often involves a lot of effort, money—and optimism—that it will go just as planned. But sometimes vendors are no-shows, or there is adverse weather. These disruptions can lead to postponements or cancellations and a potential financial loss if there isn’t wedding insurance. table setting at a wedding

Wedding insurance can protect you from circumstances outside your control, and coverage may reimburse you for expenses you’ve already paid. Many wedding insurance policies provide financial protection for these types of losses.

  • Venue—Your coverage may cover the costs of unavoidable cancellation (damage to the venue) and if the venue is in an unusable condition. Some policies may also cover the rehearsal dinner site.
  • Weather—Your policy might cover the cost of rescheduling the event (including all details such as flowers and food) if weather conditions prevent essential parties to the wedding or a majority of the guests from arriving at the wedding site.
  • Attire—Your policy may pay to repair or replace special clothing if lost, stolen or damaged.
  • Military or job transfer—Your insurance may cover the wedding postponement if you or your partner is called into military duty or forced to make a last-minute job transfer.
  • Photography—Your insurance may cover the cost of retaking photos if your photographer fails to show up or image negatives are lost, stolen or damaged.
  • Videographer—Your policy may pay to have a video montage created, a video compilation of photographs, or retake the video using restaging techniques if the video is damaged.
  • Gifts—Your policy may pay for the cost of repairing or replacing non-monetary gifts that are lost, stolen or damaged.
  • Personal liability—Your policy may cover bodily injury or property damage caused by accidents during your wedding.
  • Honeymoon—Some policies may include optional travel insurance for your honeymoon.

You should also check with your wedding venue to see if they have any insurance requirements for your celebration to ensure you aren’t liable for any damages.

Weddings typically require a lot of planning; be sure to research the vendors you choose before signing contracts. If possible, keep your deposits small since many may be non-refundable. Doing this can protect you from a significant loss if you must reschedule or cancel your wedding. In addition, you should purchase your wedding insurance as soon as you begin to make deposits or purchases for your celebration.

Bene-Marc, Inc. can help you with a wedding insurance policy that gives you peace of mind for your wedding.
